ESTABLISHED TRADITION
A Fishing Legacy in the Heart of Alabama
Set on a 200-acre farm in Perry County, Alabama, the Aluga Fishing Club offers members an exclusive trophy bass experience built around world-class genetics and a fishery managed for double-digit bass. Membership means more than access—a large percentage of dues are annually reinvested directly into the lakes, and every improvement made by the management team is logged and shared, so members can see exactly where and how their waters are enhanced year after year. An online reservation system with a 30-day rolling calendar lets members lock in their dates and enjoy total solitude, with one of the entire lakes reserved for their party. And with a members-only cottage on the property, there's no need to rush home—members can stay on-site and fish the peak hours at dawn and dusk
Our History
This land has deep roots. For years it was part of the Donovan family's holdings in the Marion area and operated as Bar D Lakes Fishing Club — a well-established fishery under the care of local fisheries expert Dr. Thomas Wilson, whose stewardship built the foundation we stand on today. In 2024, we purchased the property and got to work immediately, continuing that tradition while raising the bar: liming the lakes, restocking forage, and putting a clear management plan in place with one purpose — to grow monster bass. To lead the fishery, we hired Dan Davis of Davis Fish Farms, charging him with a single goal: make Aluga one of the best fisheries in Alabama. Bar D Lakes left us a head start. The Trophy Bass Program is how we turn it into something legendary.
The Owners
We don't just run Aluga. We live here.
We live on the property full-time, a hundred yards from the water. That changes everything about how this place is run. We know every member by name. We know who's coming through the gate and when. We're here at dawn and at dusk, and we hold Aluga to the standard of a place we call home — because it is.
It also means Aluga will always stay small and personal. We're not chasing volume. We're assembling a small circle of families who love this kind of fishing as much as we do, and who'll help us protect what makes it special. When you join, you're not a customer. You're part of why this place works.
